Celinda, along with our real life Client Concierge, Caitlin, act as a bridge between your ideas and the advisor who will bring them to life. Her name pays tribute to Celinda Elvira Hines Shipley, an early Lake Oswego settler of the 1860s whose life was defined by community leadership. She helped establish the Shipley farm as a hub for gatherings, supported the local Kalapuyan people, championed women’s rights, and became an influential voice in what would grow into Oregon’s women’s suffrage movement. She is a distant relative of the family that founded Julie’s Travel Desk—now Travel & Cruise Desk—which our family still proudly runs today. The historical Celinda was a community builder, a champion of women’s rights, and a catalyst for progress. By naming our AI assistant after her, we honor not only a family connection but also the values she stood for—kindness, service, advancement, and a deep commitment to community.
